Power is­sues were thankful­ly short.

We have a power failure at one of the link sites bet­ween De­nv­er and Col­orado Spr­ings, so Col­orado Spr­ings isn’t li­nked in right now. Hopeful­ly this is short term and power will be back quick­ly.

This re­peat­er has been down for years and wasn’t ac­tual­ly owned or main­tained by the Col­orado Con­nec­tion. We’ve kept it li­sted main­ly be­cause we hoped the own­ers would re­store it some day. That hasn’t hap­pened, so we are re­gret­ful­ly re­mov­ing it from our list.

This site has been upgraded to a full re­peat­er. It is no long­er just a simplex re­peat­er.

The Mt. Thorodin site is now fully op­eration­al with both the main and bac­kup re­peat­ers upgraded. Thanks to Doug (K2AD), Char­ley (K4NYN) and his son Lucas, and Rick (KK0COP). The site is now back up to full power, full re­dun­dan­cy, and re­peat­ers that have much bet­t­er re­mote di­ag­nostics.

Power to the Glen­wood Spr­ings site will be re­moved as part of some plan­ned power line main­tenan­ce. The outage is plan­ned for August 30th from 7am-6pm. Grand Junc­tion should not be af­fected.

The Kremml­ing re­peat­er which has been down for sever­al years is fin­al­ly back on­line! To re­store it we needed to chan­ge loc­a­tions re­quir­ing sever­al scout­ing trips, a trip to lay down new con­duit for power to the new build­ing, and fin­al­ly a trip in­stall­ing of the re­peat­er it­self.

The Vail mac­hine is bac­kup and fully op­eration­al! The main failure was a rodent one, some crit­ical c­ables were treated as food. The re­place­ment c­ables are now in con­duit.

The Lead­ville mac­hine is back up and fully op­eration­al with a com­plete­ly new solar power sys­tem (panels, bat­te­ries, and con­troll­ers). The loss of micro­wave comms was due to both micro­wave radios being blown, most li­ke­ly due to a lig­htn­ing strike. That re­stores our micro­wave link all the way to Grand Junc­tion again too.

This re­peat­er is owned and op­erated by a local group. The re­peat­er works, but the link to the Col­orado Con­nec­tion has been down for a co­u­ple years now. With no known plans to re­store that link, we are going to not list it an­ymore, but if it does ever link up will hap­pi­ly re­l­ist it.
